I recently purchased a home which had a berry bush. This low bush has green colored berries which turn purplish when ripe. They are grouped together similar to grapes but have a seed that is like a cherry seed. Could you please identify this bush and inform me if the berries are edible?

Based on your description it is possible you have a planting of some sort of currant (Ribes) such as black currant or clove currant. Those would be edible, but I would urge you to verify the identification, perhaps with your county extension (837-1402). They should also be able to advise you about their care.
