The Q&A Archives: Eggplant Soil

Question: What type of soil do eggplants prefer? Sweet or sour?

Answer: Eggplants prefer a soil with a pH between 5.8 and 6.5. A sandy loam high in organic matter is best, but in the home garden, you should be able to grow eggplants if you are able to grow tomatoes.
