After my violet seeds come up how do I care for them? |
The seedlings will need very bright light. Many gardeners find that a shop light with one warm color bulb and one cool color bulb works well for this. Keep the plants within and inch or two of the bulbs. Keep the soil barely moist. Avoid wettign the foliage when you water. Thin them to be about a half inch apart or so and once the plants have some true leaves and before they become crowded, transplant into individual small pots. Once they have true leaves you may begin fertilizing with a very dilute solution of complete water soluble fertilizer. Condition the plants to acclimate them to the out of doors gradually, then plant in the garden. I hope this helps you get started. |
