Over the winter, moles/vols have trenched my lawn and left 'mole hills' scattered about. How do I get rid of them and keep them out?
H-E-L-P !!!!! My lawn looks like London after the Blitz!!!!!

In some ways, moles are a good sign because they mean your soil is good and healthy. Voles tend to be very destructive to plantings because they devour plant roots. Unfortunately, moles and voles are difficult to control. In my experience, the most effective control is achieved by trapping them. You might wish to consult with your county extension (654-8370) as to specifically identifying which pest is at work and deciding the most effective methods of control, such as how best to go about baiting and setting the traps and protecting any pets or other animals in the area.
