I inherited a couple of peonies with the house we bought last year. In the fall, I cut off the dead stems to about 3 inches so I could find them again in the spring. Now its late February and I notice several red tips of something working their way up through the soil. Are these my peonies? If so I have alot more than I thought I did! I have discovered these "red tips" in several other places as I have cleaned out the various flower beds around my property. Thanks!

Yes, that sounds like it could be peonies coming up.
