| The Eastern Redbud or Cercis canadensis is considered to be a small tree, although in areas where ice storms are common they may seem more like a multitrunked shrub due to repeated breakage. According to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants," this native tree grows to a typical height of about 25 feet and a typical mature width of about 30 feet. It reches this size by growing at a moderately slow rate of about a foot a year. |
