I want to paint my large clay pot. It dries out too fast in summer and plants don't do well. Do I have to seal the pot with something before applying the paint? Also, can I use any kind of spray can paint? If you don't have the answers can you suggest someone for me to E-mail?

You could seal the pot by painting the interior with polyurethane, or you could use a plastic pot inside the terra cotta pot, in order to conserve soil moisture. You could also paint the outside, but since the pot is porous you may have problems with the pot peeling. You might want to contact the paint company to find out what they would recommend as far as a painting procedure.
