For a sunny window box, you could select nearly any mid to small sized sun-loving annuals that appeal to you. The selection is very wide. You could look at smaller marigolds, smaller zinnias such as "Profusion", geraniums, blue or red salvia, the trailing ornamental sweet potato vines, dusty miller, small dahlia varieties, annual dianthus or pinks, petunias, lantana, helichrysum petiolare, and attractive herbs such as "Purple Ruffles" basil or extra curly dwarf parsley. I hope this gives you some ideas.
