The Q&A Archives: Source for Tomato-Potato Plant

Question: A few years ago I planted a Tomato-Potato plant, which yielded wonderful results. I believe the plant was ordered from a Burpee catalog. Do you still carry these plants or know where I can find them? A few of my colleagues are doubting Thomas' also, and I'd like to demonstrate to them that the plant does actually exist! Thanks! Janet Contrada Smithtown, NY

Answer: Oh yes, the tomato-potato plant does exist! It is actually a tomato top grafted to a potato root system and then produces some tomatoes and potatoes on one plant. It's a novelty, but you can buy it from, Gardener's Choice 81961 County Rd 687 P.O. Box 8000 Hartford, MI 49057-8000 616-621-2481
