| I am looking for a flower called "Bird of Paradise". It is a shrub that bears bright orange flowers in a cluster. It grows mostly in western area but just a handful of houses in Houston have it. I think the genus is "Caesalpinia".....probably a legume family. Do you have it or do you know who sells it's seeds? |
| Bird of Paradise is Strelitzia reginae. Plants grow to 5' high and produce 4"-6" wide, 1 1/2' long leaves. The flowers are dramatic, bright, and look like a bird's head with a colorful beak. The plants are not generally grown from seed but are propagated by division. A local nursery, especially one specializing in tropical plants, can get one for you. |
