Hi, I bought a electric greenhouse from burpee this fall. I have started pepper & tomato seeds before, but never in a greenhouse, and living in Indpls. IN. I was wondering apprx. when I should start them, Because I didn't know if they would grow faster in a greenhouse. |
The little electric greenhouses are meant to provide optimum temperatures for germinating heat-loving seeds and for encouraging rooting on tip cuttings from heat loving plants that benefit especially from warm soil. Once the typical vegetable plants have germinated they would be moved to normal growing conditions under supplemental lights. You may pick up some time due to faster germination, but thereafter the time frame should be similar to what you are used to. |
