Can you tell me a resource for a plastic planter, about six (6) feet long, made of plastic that I can attach to the exterior of my house. Thanks, John

In my experience, most planters are made in shorter lengths such as 30 to possibly 48 inches, as in typical window width sizes and to allow for convenient shipping sizes. This allows you to combine them to approximate a longer length. Many nurseries, and home and garden centers offer window boxes of all kinds, and catalogs also offer window boxes. Burpee (800-888-1447 or www.burpee.com), for instance, offers a 30" window box in the current catalog, along with brackets to fit it. If you are unable to find the right length pre-made window box, you might consider making one out of a recycled plastic material such as Trex. These special materials are usually available through lumber yards and home centers as well. You could also make a wooden box that looks right from the front view and then line it with smaller plastic boxes.
