The Q&A Archives: Harvesting Lemongrass

Question: How and when do you harvest lemongrass?

Answer: As long as your lemongrass plant is growing strong and vigorously, you can harvest blades for cooking or other herbal projects. You can trim off individual blades of the grass by cutting them at the base, or you can cut the entire clump and wait for it to regrow. It is so flavorful that usually a little bit goes a long way, so most people take just a blade at a time.
