I just bought an Asian Pear (Pyrus pyrifolia). Do I need a second tree for cross pollination and good fruit set?

Although some Asian pears are somewhat self-fertile, you'll get better fruit set if you have two different varieties. Most are considered good pollinizers, but be sure to choose two that bloom at the same time. For instance, Yongi and Ichiban make a good pair, and Shinseiki and Mishirasu will pollinate each other.
