What are the effects of acid rain on primroses and what kind of acid rain (ph levels) do Primroses respond best to?

Primroses require an acid soil so I would expect them to be relatively tolerant of acid rain; the relative benefits or effects might depend on the starting soil pH. I am not aware of any studies specifically addressing acid rain and primroses however and did not find any during a brief search.
