Planting Blueberries in Colorado - Knowledgebase Question

I would like to plant blueberries in my yard but I'm not sure they will grow in my area. Please advise.

The limiting factors for blueberries are that they like acidic soil (many soils in the West are alkaline) and they are not cold hardy in extreme winters. It looks like you are on the border between zones 4 & 5, and Burpee lists their blueberries from zones 4-8. They also need to be protected over the winter. If you want to try them, I suggest you acidify the planting area, but that is temporary and would need to be done each year.
