Annuals that take heat and sun include sunflowers, tithonia, zinnia, coreposis, cosmos, gaillardia, black-eyed Susan, coneflower, lisianthus, petunia, salvia, geranium, and vinca. Most herbs will take sun as they are native to the Mediterranean region, but they must have good drainage. Oregano, thyme, lavender, basil, and sage are some options.
