All my seed are doiing well except these two. I followed the directions. Help. |
Sometimes cleome needs oscillating temperatures in order to germinate, meaning a day temperature about ten degrees warmer than the nighttime temperature. This plant also likes heat. A good day time high to strive for with cleome would be about 80 degrees. Coneflower or Echinacea purpurea will sometimes require a cold stratification period before it will germinate. If nothing happens after three weeks, wrap the pot in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator or just slightly cooler temperatures for several weeks and then try again. Many perrennials require this type of simulated winter. Good luck with the seeds! |
