we have had some skunk problems in my area and I attribute them to the number of "grubs" in my lawn. I would like a recomendation on how to rid my lawn of these pests, and there by ridding myself of a skunk problem. I do fertilize anually and have one of the nicest lawns in my town which is why I think I have a "grub haven". Thank You

Although skunks do occasionally dig at the lawn, in my experience this is usually only a spring time occurrence and stops on its own. (Other animals and birds may also be the culprit.) Skunks may present a health hazard (if rabies is in your area or if they are feeding in trash cans, etc.) and so I would suggest you contact your local animal control agency for assistance with skunk problem. Whether or not to treat your lawn for grubs would be based on the actual population density; if the lawn looks good in all likelihood it is not at a problem level. You might wish to consult with your county extension (465-3880) about the grub population and how best to control them.
