I recently purchased Chinese cabbage seeds, but there are no instructions on how and where to grow them. I have looked in all of my books and I can't find any planting information for Chinese cabbage. I need to know as much as possible, as this is the first time I have tried to grow this vegetable.

Chinese cabbage culture is similar to that of other Oriental greens. The plants prefer cooler weather and are best grown in early spring. Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep, keep the bed uniformly moist, and cover the bed with a fabric row cover to keep insects away. Thin seedlings to 12 inches apart and harvest heads as soon as they mature to avoid bolting.
