Tomato seeds are usually started indoors about 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected spring frost. For best results, use gentle bottom heat to maintain a soil temperature of about 75 degrees and set the seedlings under supplemental light as soon as they germinate. If you do not know your frost date, check with your local county extension, garden center, or a gardening neighbor. Have fun with your seeds!
