Seeds for ground cherries--also called husk tomatoes, botanical name Physalis pruinosa--are available from Nichols Garden Nursery, 1190 North Pacific Hwy., Albany, OR 97321; ph# 541/928-9280.

The small yellow fruits in papery wrappers are eaten fresh and used in pies and jams.
