Have you heard of using cocoa been shells as mulch and is it okay for your shrubs/flowers?

Cocoa bean shells are occasionally used as a mulch in areas where they are available and not too expensive. It is a very attractive mulch. They are sometimes a problem in that they can blow away and some people do not like the chocolate odor -- other people love it! Using them is a matter of personal preference.
