| I have a cyperus papyrus in a pot and in water. it's never beautiful. the leaves are always yellow. What can I do to make it healthy? |
| This plant is not normally a dark green unless it is grown in a relatively shady location. However, it should not be yellow, either. You might try fertilizing it according to the label instructions with a water soluble/houseplant fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (listed as N,P,K on the label) and see if the additional nutrients help it green up a bit. This plant is a fairly heavy feeder and would normally take up nutrients from the rich soil at the bottom of a pond or edge of a river, but in the container the nutrients are quickly exhausted. If it has grown a lot, you may also need to repot it into a larger pot. Finally, make sure it is kept always in a saucer of water and never allowed to dry out. |
