| I have heard that pomegranates take about 5 years before they start producing fruit. Is this true? Can I buy varietes that produce earlier? |
| Pomegranates can bear from 1 to 4 years after planting. Some varieties do not produce fruit at all, and are used ornamentally. Others do not produce well in cool, coastal areas, preferring the heat and aridity of the desert. Check with your local nursery for a variety that will grow well in your area. |
