Dividing Monkshood - Knowledgebase Question

i have read that monkshood does not like to be divided .but mine is getting to big where it at and i would like to divide it .any tricks that would work?

If you have some experience with dividing plants it should not be much different from any other plant. Replant it immediately into prepared soil and water it to settle any air pockets. Treat it as you would any newly planted plant and keep it well watered as needed until it becomes reestablished. This plant may sulk for a while after you divide it, but it can certainly be done and in fact should probably be done every four years to keep the plant vigorous. Keep in mind though that the plant is poisonous, including the roots, so exercise some caution.
