I've just ordered bearded iris. I assume they are planted in the spring or you wouldn't be offering them. what is the optimal time to plant them?

Bearded iris may be planted in the spring with good results although they may not bloom the first year. Typically the plants are divided in mid to late summer and replanted then. They are often sold for planting in the early fall as well.
