Citrus trees are very susceptible to frost. You are in zone 8, with average annual minimum temperatures of 10 to 20 degrees F, so citrus would likely get nipped. (Citrus is grown commercially in the deserts of Southern California, Arizona, Texas and Florida and the Gulf Coast.) You could try one in a container and move it indoors or into a protected area during winter.
