| My garden is on a Garden Tour the third week of June (June 16th). I live in zone 6B and am curious what is blooming during that period (i.e., perennials, scrubs, trees, annuals, etc.). I would like to be able to ensure color and purchase some additional plants that would be peak at that time. |
| Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict exactly what will be in bloom on a certain date because seasons vary from year to year and bloom times can swing one way or the other. I would suggest you consult with nearby neighbors who garden, local garden centers and possibly your county extension for suggestions of what has the best chance of being in bloom at your house on that date to complement what you already have. Be aware however that newly purchased perennial plants may bloom off of their "typical" schedule due to being grown in containers and going through the shipping and sales process. You might want to look into using some very reliable annual plantings and/or preplanted containers of annuals to assure a good show. Enjoy the tour! |
