I am in zone6 when should I start planting string beans. Is march to early?

String beans would not be planted until around your last expected frost date. They do not tolerate frost. They should be planted outside in the ground where they are to grow. If you do not know your date, check with a local garden center or with your local county extension or with a gardening neighbor.
