Is it ok to use pressure-treated lumber as the edging for a vegetable garden? Will the chemicals leach?

There are many alternatives to use in the vegetable garden if the possibility of leaching worries you -- opinions vary on this point. Normal wood will last a number of years, cedar or redwood will last even longer. You could use cinder blocks or rocks, you could also simply rake the dirt into a sharp-sided, flat topped mound like a mesa and use no edges at all.
