The Q&A Archives: Reloc Ating Violets

Question: How can I transplant violets to another yard when I move in a couple of months? When should should I set them?

Answer: Ideally they would be transplanted in very early spring. If you do not have access to your new location yet, perhaps you could share some with a friend and then get your own start of them next fall or next spring. You might have success if you pot some up now, hold them as container plants and then transplant them in the early fall. You might also be able to collect seed from them and start a new patch using those. Good luck moving your violets.
