| Tropical hibiscus can be pruned back by about half to promote vigorous new growth and branching. Their natural shape is a gangly one and they grow very big, so you can either selectively remove larger branches or trim back smaller ones to try to shape it. It blooms on older growth so trimming it all over at one time will delay blooming. Removing selective portions at a time will allow it to bloom more continuously. You might also want to repot it into fresh soil at the same time. Good luck with your hibiscus. |
