Canterbury Bells are a type of Campanula. They are grown as biennials, meaning they grow for a season, live over the winter, then bloom, set seed and die the second year. They prefer sun, rich soil that is evenly moist yet well drained, and neutral to somewhat alkaline. They will self seed prolifically where they are happy.
