Are "Big Hybrid Hot Peppers" originally green as they grow?...How and when do they grow???... If you can send me some info on how to take care of my hot peppers this year, I would greatly appreciate it. |
Most peppers begin green and then gradually mature to their final color, red. Peppers are grown much in the same way as tomatoes. They need full sun, good organic soil, and an evenly moist yet not sopping wet soil. The plants do not tolerate frost or cold soil, so set out transplants about a week or so after the last expected frost. Mulch them to keep weeds down and help keep the soil moist. Most peppers may be picked about 70 days after transplanting, although it may take longer for them to mature fully. |
