What type of fertilizer (5-10-5, acid-loving, etc.)would be needed for lilac bushes, creeping silver euonymus,goldflame spireaea, and rose-glow japanese barberry? The labels on the plants just say "Fertilize in the Spring". Not much help.Thank you in advance.

The type and amount of fertilizer to use would be determined on the basis of soil tests. Your Cornell Cooperative Extension should be able to help you with the tests and interpreting the results. In general, these plants would be given a general purpose granular fertilizer in early spring according to the label instructions.
