According to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants" the Morus alba mulberry is hardy into zone 4. However, this is the northern limit of its range and it may depend to some extent on your microclimate whether or not it would be hardy for you. You might want to consult with your County Extension (736-3394) to see if there are any in your immediate area. This would be a pretty good indication of your chance for success.
