My yard backs to a wooded area and deers and rabbit come into my yard and eat my plants. I have used some home Mixer that smell fowl but do not help for a long time. I have seen some powered noise makers that are supposed to repeal animals from yards, but I do not know anyone who have use one such gadget.(they emitt noise up to a certian distance and humans cannot hear this noise) I need to know if these are effective and if so which is the best one to use.

Deer and other critters can be very destructive in the garden. In my experience, the best protection over time is a fence. However, many gardeners report success using different measures such as the repellant sprays or the motion activated devices. Sometimes alternating between defenses seems to help keep them on edge a little longer. Burpee offers several repellants and Gardeners Supply

among other catalogs offers some of the devices. Since the deer are different from place to place and are very adaptive and the severity of the feeding pressure varies from area to area, unfortunately I can't predict how well any given device would work for you. Best of luck with the deer.
