The Q&A Archives: When Will Wisteria Bloom?

Question: How old does a wisteria vine need to be to bloom?

Answer: It can take up to 20 years for a seed-grown wisteria to bloom, but often they start after about eight years or so. Grafted plants bloom immediately since they are started with blooming wood. Proper, liberal pruning and conservative feeding and watering will promote the most bloom.
