| I just received some dahlia tubers. We still have considerable snow cover. When should I plant these and what should I do with them in the meantime? There were no instructions regarding this. |
| Dahlias can be stored cool and dry until after the danger of frost, then planted outside where they are to grow. Alternatively you can put them into growth early in pots, keeping them in very bright light and setting the pots outdoors whenever possible on warm days to keep the plants in bright sunshine. Plant them in the garden when the danger of frost has passed, but take care not to not expose the foliage to freezing temperatures in the meantime. |
