This plant is a smaller willow growing typically in the six foot range both tall and wide in a mounded shape. The foliage is an interesting ornamental feature. The plant tolerates cold to zone 6 but does not do well in warmer areas of the country. All willows are potentially subject to a wide variety of problems; they also prefer a moist soil but will tolerate average moisture. As a rule of thumb avoid planting any willow near pipes or drains or drain fileds as they will range in search of any excess moisture.
