I'm getting married in mid-August and would like to give some sort of flower seeds/bulbs/plants as favors to my guests. I'd like it to be something they could plant in mid to late August and bloom thereafter. Is it best to give seeds, bulbs, or mini-plants for this purpose?

It's late to plant seeds or transplants in August, as there isn't that much time left for them to grow and flower before frost. I think spring-blooming bulbs would be terrific, as they are planted in the fall to bloom in the spring. Consider daffodils, tulips, hyacinth, or crocus. Paperwhites for forcing would also be nice, as they are very fragrant. Hope this helps!
