How much/how long in standing water can Anne Arunel & Lord Baltimore Hibiscus take? We have an earthen pond which, although normally edged with mud, does fill up in the Spring time and occasionally during periods of heavy rain. I see hibiscus growing in swampy areas and hope that these two varieties can also take the same conditions.

These two plants prefer a moist soil, and in my experience do well along the side of a drainage ditch that is wet in similar times as a pond would be, but perhaps not for as long at a time. You might experiment with a few plants att the edge of the pond and see how they do, then add more if they thrive.
