Are colonnade apples flavorful and good for cooking? Is there a more common apple that your colonnades taste like? Thanks.

The Colonnade apples are either Malus x `Trajan` (Scarlet Spire) or Malus x `Tuscan` (Emerald Spire). Scarlet Spire is a juicy red and green eating apple, and Emerald Spire produces mellow, sweet green fruit with a gold blush. Both are best eaten fresh.
