I live in USDA Zone 5. It s early November - how much longer do I have to plant peonies?

It s safe to plant them until the ground freezes. If the crowns appear dry, soak them in water overnight before planting, and be sure to plant them at the proper depth (1-1/2 below the surface). It helps to mix 1/2 cup of lime with the backfill from theplanting hole before firming it around the roots.
