Will lilac and wisteria grow and flower in low desert Arizona? |
Neither is recommended or well-suited here. I don't know anyone who grows lilac. There are scattered wisteria plants around the Valley in microclimates that suit it. They need protection and lots of water, so the ones that exist are usually in flood irrigation areas. Texas mountain laurel thrives here and it has a hanging cluster of highly fragrant purple flowers. It blooms in spring, usually March. |
