Hi, I planted Rose of Sharon plants last year and would like to know if you can clip the stalks back in the Spring and how far back if you can? Thankyou.

Rose of Sharon can be grown as a shrub or a small tree. It should be pruned in late winter or early spring as needed to shape it or control its size. It blooms on the current summer's growth, so do not prune it during the late spring or summer -- you will be removing the flowering wood.
