The Q&A Archives: Cross Polination Of Orange Tree

Question: Do you have to plant two navel orange trees for cross polination in order for the trees to bear fruit?

Answer: Some hybrid orange varieties developed in recent years have had problems with self-fertilization. There is a table of compatible citrus varieties available at the link below. If you do not have one of these hybrid varieties, your tree should not require a "buddy" in order to set fruit. Enjoy!
