Moonflowers are heat and sun loving plants. They also need to climb in order to stay healthy, and they need to grow fast. It is very difficult to satisfy their needs indoors under artificial light.

Usually, the seeds are planted in the garden where the plants are to grow as one would do for their relatives, the morning glories. If you really want to give them a head start, you can germinate the seeds in four inch pots and transplant them within about two weeks. Insert a stake in each pot when you plant the seeds. Start them late enough that the soil is good and warm prior to planting them outside, they really need heat.

I hope this helps you trouble shoot.
