The asparagus I planted last year is doing very well and is now nearly three feet high and starting to leaf out but it has been hit by a hard frost and spears are wilted and damaged. Should I cut off the spears? Should the plant be cut below ground level? Thank you

Remove the damaged spears by cutting them just below the soil surface, just as if you were harvesting them. Unfortunately you won't be able to eat them this year. Better luck next year!
